Components of performance quality -
The interrelation between the quality of line, control and variation of dynamics and tempo as well as kinaesthetic awareness in communicating of the concept/intent of a performance.
Variation of dynamics: the dancers ability to manipulate the dynamics of a movement to communicate an intent and create or maintain interest
Temporal variation: the dancers ability to manipulate the components of time in relation to movement
Quality of line: to execute movement with clarity and correct alignment. The dancer should finish all lines and all lines should be performed at the dancer’s level with consideration to their abilities and limitations.
Projection: a confident presentation of one’s body and energy to vividly communicate movement and meaning to the audience.
Kinaesthetic awareness: the feeling and sensations of the body’s muscles, joints and tendons in motion and stillness. This sense allows me to make subtle adjustments to my alignment and movements as I am performing them as well as to copy movements demonstrated to me.
